NEW YORK (AA) - The stock market opened lower Wednesday after the president's surprise firing of FBI Director James Comey.

The Dow lost 52 points to begin the day at 20,923 and the S&P 500 fell one point to 2,395.

The Nasdaq fell two points to start trading at 6,117.

President Donald Trump's Tuesday dismissal of Comey was seen as an unpredictable move by the administration that worried investors.

The market and investors are now focused on the weekly change in the U.S. crude oil and gasoline inventories to be announced later Wednesday.
