US stocks end higher despite inflation concerns

Nasdaq index up by over 1.6% at close

ISTANBUL (AA) - US stocks ended with gains Monday after falling in early trade.

While inflationary concerns continued to affect the bond market, the US 10-year bond yield was stabilized at 2.98% after seeing its highest level since 2018 with 3%.

The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average ended up 0.26%, or 84.29 points, at 33,061.

The S&P 500 rose 23.45 points, or 0.57%, to close at 4,155.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq increased almost 201.4 points, or 1.63%, to 12,536.

At the closing bell, the dollar index was at 103,625, rising 0.64% as of 2110GMT versus the previous close.

Turkiye’s benchmark stock index was closed Monday due to the Muslim Eid al-Fitr holiday, while major stock exchanges in Asia closed mixed Monday.

All European stock markets ended the first transaction day of the week in negative territory.
