ISTANBUL (AA) - The New York Stock Exchange ended mixed on the last trading day of the week as technology stocks saw a slight recovery.
The Dow fell 0.65%, or 309.74 points, to close at 47,147.48.
The Nasdaq rose slightly by 0.13%, or 30.23 points, to 22,900.59, while the S&P 500 was off by 0.05%, or 3.38 points, to 6,734.11.
The Volatility Index (VIX), also known as the "fear index," fell 0.85% to 19.83.
Technology stocks, which had been under selling pressure due to concerns about high valuations, regained some of their losses.
Gains in some tech stocks that started the day lower drew attention. Nvidia shares rose 1.8%, Microsoft rose 1.4%, Broadcom added 0.7% and Tesla climbed 0.6%.
Amazon and Alphabet fell around 1%, while Apple and Meta shares also lost value.
Meanwhile, shares of Walmart, which announced that CEO Doug McMillon will retire in January, remained flat.
