WASHINGTON (AA) - The US declared three members of the Tren de Aragua gang "alien enemies" and announced plans to extradite them to Chile, the Justice Department said Monday.
Adrian Rafael Gamez Finol, Miguel Oyola Jimenez and Edgar Javier Benitez Rubio are wanted for "violent crimes" including homicide, kidnapping for ransom and other offenses, the department said in statement.
"These three Tren de Aragua members pose a grave risk to the public safety and national security of the United States, just as they allegedly did in Chile," said Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.
The department said it will work "expeditiously" to return them to Chile to face justice.
Tren de Aragua is a Venezuelan transnational criminal organization that is designated as a foreign terrorist organization in the US.
