US wholesale inventories rise 0.6% in September

Wholesale trade sales also post increase of 0.4%

ANKARA (AA) - Wholesale inventories in the US rose 0.6% in September to $918.5 billion, according to Commerce Department figures released on Wednesday.

The figure, which measures the change in the total value of goods held in inventory by wholesalers, was expected to show a rise of 0.8% from the previous month.

The figure in August was revised to $913.5 billion for a monthly gain of 1.4%.

Wholesale trade sales, also known as the total sales of merchant wholesalers, also posted an increase of 0.4% to $699.9 billion in September.

The figure came in line with market expectation, while it rose 0.1% in August on a monthly basis.
