- Team USA eye 7th consecutive Olympic gold

Having secured the final berth in Tokyo 2020, Team USA are now targeting their seventh consecutive gold in Olympics as they secured the top position on the podium from 1996 to 2016.

Team USA had a bronze at 1992 Barcelona Olympics.

Before Barcelona 1992, Team USA had won two gold medals in 1984 and 1988 Games, as well as a silver in Montreal 1976.

Following the games in Montreal, US did not join the 1980 Summer Olympics to boycott the games in Moscow for political reasons.
