Utah Jazz win playoff opener over Dallas Mavericks with 99-93

Donovan Mitchell leads team to victory with 32-point performance at American Airlines Center

ISTANBUL (AA) - The Utah Jazz won the playoff opener 99-93 against the Dallas Mavericks, which were without Luka Doncic because of a strained left calf.

Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 32 points, six assists and six rebounds at the American Airlines Center.

Croatian forward Bojan Bogdanovic scored 26 points and had five boards while Rudy Gobert added 17 rebounds.

Mike Conley Jr. came off the bench and had 13 points.

Jalen Brunson was the high scorer for Dallas with 24 points and seven rebounds.

Spencer Dinwiddie dropped 22, Reggie Bullock had 15, Dorian Finney-Smith scored 14 and Maxi Kleber added 10 to round off the Mavericks' double-digit scorers.

Doncic, 23, was injured in the final regular-season game April 10 against the San Antonio Spurs.

Game 2 will be played April 19 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
