ANKARA (AA) - A delegation of members of the media from Uzbekistan on Monday visited Anadolu Agency’s headquarters in the capital Ankara as part of a program organized by Turkey’s Presidential Communications Directorate.

The five-member delegation, including prominent members of the Uzbek media, met with Editor-in-Chief Metin Mutanoglu and International News Editor-in-Chief Faruk Tokat.

Mutanoglu told the group about the agency’s activities, publication languages, and goals, as well as the international structure of the agency.

Noting that the agency produces news stories in 13 languages, including Turkish and English, Mutanoglu highlighted that Anadolu Agency is among the world's most important press institutions.

He also said that Uzbekistan’s moves to connect with foreign countries are important both for relations between Turkey and Uzbekistan and its communications with the West.

Mutanoglu called Uzbekistan the rising star of Central Asia, saying Turkey welcomes developments in the country with excitement.

The delegation also briefed Mutanoglu about their contacts in Turkey.
