ANKARA (AA) – Vessel traffic in the Istanbul Strait has been temporarily suspended in both directions after the cargo ship "Bers" suffered an engine failure, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, the 95-meter-long dry cargo vessel, traveling from Iskenderun to Romania, experienced a mechanical malfunction near the 15 July Martyrs Bridge.
In response, the General Directorate of Coastal Safety dispatched a pilot and a tugboat to the scene.
