BETHLEHEM, Palestine (AA) - A Palestinian youth was seriously injured on Monday after an Israeli settler struck him with his vehicle in the southern West Bank, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

In a statement, the PRCS said that Hamza Najajra, a young Palestinian man from Jerusalem, had been struck by a vehicle driven by a settler near the town of Nahalin near Bethlehem in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

According to the PRCS, the young man sustained “serious” injuries for which he is now receiving treatment.

Palestinians in the West Bank complain of frequent attacks by Jewish settlers, who generally enjoy the protection of Israeli police and/or military personnel.

Palestinian officials accuse the Israeli army and police of turning a blind eye to repeated settler assaults on West Bank Palestinians and their property.
