ANKARA (AA) - Turkish forces neutralized six terrorists in the country's eastern province of Kars, the interior minister said Friday.
Three of the terrorists were wanted by the Interior Ministry with a bounty of 500,000 Turkish liras ($68,000) on their heads.
Suleyman Soylu said on Twitter that one terrorist was on the orange category, whereas two others were on the gray category, referring to the Interior Ministry's color-coded wanted list.
The terrorist group was not named in the statement, but the PKK has been active in the region.
Also, a militant of far-left MLKP terror group was neutralized.
Turkish security forces often use the term "neutralize" to denote the terrorist in question either surrendered or was captured or killed.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US, and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants. The YPG is the PKK’s Syrian offshoot.
