Wimbledon women's semifinals set

World No.1 Ashleigh Barty of Australia to play Angelique Kerber from German

ANKARA (AA) – The Wimbledon women's singles semifinals were sealed Tuesday.

Ashleigh Barty of Australia will play Angelique Kerber of Germany on Thursday in the first semifinal match.

The world’s top ranked player eliminated countryman Ajla Tomljanovic in the quarterfinals while Kerber beat Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic.

In the other semifinal match, Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic will play Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus.

Pliskova won her quarterfinals match with a win against Swiss Viktorija Golubic while Sabalenka beat Ons Jabeur of Tunisia.

The women's final will be played Saturday.
