ISTANBUL (AA) - The World Governments Summit 2026 opened in the United Arab Emirates’ Dubai on Tuesday under the theme "Shaping Future Governments," marking the largest international participation in the event’s history.
The three-day summit, running from Feb.3 to Feb.5, brings together more than 6,250 decision-makers and experts, including over 60 heads of state and government and their deputies, more than 500 ministers, and representatives from over 150 governments, the UAE state news agency WAM reported.
This marks the event's largest leadership turnout to date since its establishment in 2013.
Participants are expected to discuss global trends, address global challenges, and explore the role of governments in shaping sustainable community development.
This year’s edition will feature awards in four categories: the Best Minister Award, the Most Reformed Government Global Award, the Dubai International Best Practices Award for Sustainable Development, and the Global Teacher Prize.
