MOSCOW (AA) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Friday that he agreed to meet US President Donald Trump in the near future.
In a statement shared on Telegram, Zelenskyy said that “a lot can be decided before the New Year.”
“(Head of Ukraine’s Defense and Security Council) Rustem Umerov reported on his latest contacts with the American side. We are not losing a single day. We agreed to meet at the highest level — with President Trump — in the near future. A lot can be decided before the New Year,” he wrote.
The United States hosted a round of talks on Dec. 22–23 on a potential Ukrainian settlement, with representatives from both Moscow and Kyiv taking part.
