ANKARA (AA) — Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Tommy Paul all reached the 2025 Australian Open men's singles quarterfinals on Sunday.
Ten-time champion Novak Djokovic reached his record-equaling 15th Australian Open quarterfinal after beating 24th seed Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic with 6-3, 6-4, and 7-6 (4) sets.
"I think the last two matches have been really high level," said the Serbian tennis legend.
"I played two Czech players that are in really good form. Lehecka won a tournament in the first week of the season. He's been feeling the ball great," he added.
Djokovic's upcoming quarterfinal opponent, no. 3 seed Carlos Alcaraz, passed the fourth round after his British opponent Jack Draper had to quit due to a left hip injury, following 7-5, 6-1 sets.
"You will be where you deserve. Get well soon, Jack," said the young Spaniard after his opponent's injury.

Men's second seed Alexander Zverev hammered French southpaw Ugo Humbert with the sets 6-1, 2-6, 6-3, and 6-2 at John Cain Arena on Sunday.
"I gotta play my best, play the way I’ve played the first week, hopefully a little better," said the two-time Grand Slam finalist.

Women's world no. 1 Aryna Sabalenka stunned Andreeva with straight sets 6-1 and 6-2 in the fourth round on Sunday.
"Every match is (a) new opportunity. It’s a new game," said the Belarusian. "It's about staying in the moment and focusing on myself ... I know that if I'm able to bring my best game, I know that I can get the win."
Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who will be Sabalenka's opponent in the quarterfinal clash, eliminated Donna Vekic with sets 7-6(0) 6-0.
Vekic also sustained a right knee injury during the game.
- Gauff to take on Badosa in women's quarterfinals
Women's third seed Coco Gauff beat Swiss Belinda Bencic with 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 sets on Sunday.
"There’s still a lot to go for me to accomplish my goal, but I can say that I’m proud of myself and happy (with) how I performed," the US player said after her victory.
Gauff's upcoming opponent, 11th seed Paula Badosa, eliminated Serbian Olga Danilovic 6-1, 7-6(2) in the fourth round match.
"I was always really sad because I always said this was my favorite Slam, and I never made it to the last rounds," Badosa said, adding, "Finally I’m here, and finally I think I will play the next match in Rod Laver Arena, so I’m really looking forward to that."
