Severe storms kill 3 in Poland

WARSAW (AA) - At least three people were killed by violent storms that struck Poland on Thursday, according to local media.

While two people died as a result of the collapse of a 30-meter crane at a construction site in Krakow province due to the storm, four people were injured.

In the western Lubuskie province, trees were knocked down by the strong winds and a 70-year-old man died when a tree fell on his vehicle.

Poland's meteorology directorate warned that winds could exceed 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) in some regions.

It was also reported that approximately 3,000 houses were left without electricity due to the storm in Silesian region and power cuts occurred in other parts of the country.
