Slovenia edge Lithuania in EuroBasket thriller

Mike Tobey stars as Slovenia fight hard for 92-85 victory

ANKARA (AA) – Slovenia defeated Lithuania 92-85 in a thrilling 2022 EuroBasket encounter on Thursday.

The Group B game went down to the last few minutes until Slovenia seized momentum to take it away from Lithuania.

One of the best plays of the match came late in the second period when Slovenia’s Vlatko Cancar blocked Mindaugas Kuzminskas’ turnover, then raced down to the other end to score and draw a foul.

Mike Tobey led the charge for Slovenia with 24 points and 8 rebounds, with NBA star Luka Doncic chipping in with 14 points and 10 assists.

For Lithuania, Marius Grigonis racked up 18 points and Jonas Valanciunas grabbed 12 rebounds.
