Somalia:Terror attack kills religious leader, followers

ANKARA (AA) - Terror attack in northern Somalia killed a prominent Muslim cleric and his 17 followers, police said on Monday.

Ahmet Awale, of Galkayo police, said that an armed attack targeted the residence of the religious leader -- which was also used as a Sufi shrine.

According to initial reports, 20 people were injured in the attack, Awale said, adding security forces killed most of the attackers.

Terrorist group al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack.
