South Korea’s former President Yoon Suk Yeol was absent Friday from the second hearing of his latest trial on martial law-related charges, according to Yonhap News Agency.

Yoon attended the first hearing last month, appearing in public for the first time since his arrest in July.

The trial at the Seoul Central District Court is his second in connection with his failed attempt to impose martial law in December last year.

During his appearance in court on Sept. 26, he denied all charges on martial law-related allegations.

Prosecutors have already indicted Yoon on charges of violating the rights of Cabinet members, revising the martial law proclamation and obstructing his detention by investigators in January.

He is also facing charges of insurrection due to the martial law decree and has been detained since his second arrest on July 10.

Last month, Yoon filed a request for bail, but the court rejected it.
