South Korea's ruling party says it will accept court ruling on President Yoon's impeachment
8-judge court likely to announce verdict in next few days

KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) - South Korea's ruling party on Sunday announced it will accept "whatever" decision the Constitutional Court makes on President Yoon Suk Yeol's impeachment.
Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader of the People Power Party (PPP), outlined the party's official stance ahead of the ruling, which is expected to cap the months-long political crisis haunting the nation since Yoon's botched attempt to impose martial law last December.
The eight-judge court has yet to announce the date of the ruling, though many observers expect it to take place in the next few days, Seoul-based Yonhap News reported.
"Our party's official stance is that (we) will accept the court's decision," Kweon told reporters in Seoul.
"As you all know, constitutional trials are single-trial cases ... once a ruling is made, the outcome is binding for everyone."
If Yoon is ousted, the country will be required to hold a snap presidential election within the next 60 days. If reinstated, he will return to his duties and serve out the remainder of his term through May 2027.
