Sudanese minister tests positive for coronavirus
Sudan confirmed 28,545 virus infections, including 1,895 fatalities

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AA) - Sudan’s Industry Minister Ibrahim al-Sheikh said Saturday he had tested positive for the coronavirus.
Al-Sheikh said in a Facebook post that his wife and two daughters had also contracted COVID-19.
The minister said that earlier tests showed that he had been infected with malaria. "I underwent treatment for malaria over the past period but without any significant improvement," he said.
Sudan has so far confirmed 28,545 infections from the coronavirus, including 1,895 fatalities.
On Wednesday, Sudan received the first shipment of 820,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.
