Sudan's Bashir suffered minor stroke: Medical source

KHARTOUM (AA) - Ousted Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir has suffered a minor stroke, a medical source told Anadolu Agency on Sunday.

"He is in a stable condition now," the source, who is one of the doctors treating al-Bashir, said on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

He, however, said that al-Bashir's "psychological conditions were constantly deteriorating".

"Al-Bashir is refusing food and medicine and is being force-fed," he said.

On April 11, al-Bashir, who ruled Sudan since 1989, was ousted by the military following months of popular protests against his 30-year rule.

A Military Transitional Council is now overseeing a two-year “transitional period” during which the council has promised to hold presidential elections.
