Syrian president, Qatari emir discuss regional tensions
Shara, Al Thani talk about rising US‑Israel‑Iran tensions, its effect on Mideat security, emphasizing Arab unity, stronger ties

DAMASCUS (AA) - Syrian President Ahmed Shara spoke Sunday by phone with Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani about escalating tensions with the US, Israel and Iran, and their effect on regional security and stability, according to the Syrian Presidency.
Shara emphasized Syria’s solidarity with its brotherly country Qatar, and warned that Iranian attacks targeting Qatar and other Arab nations pose a serious threat to regional security.
He also highlighted the importance of Arab unity, stating that “Syria is firmly opposed to any violations against the sovereignty of Arab countries and any actions that undermine their security.”
Emir Al Thani expressed appreciation for Syria’s determined stance in supporting the security of Qatar and Arab nations. He also underscored the strong fraternal ties between the two countries, expressing hope that the bonds would continue to strengthen.
Shara also held a call earlier with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, addressing issues of regional security and stability.
