ANKARA (AA) - Taiwan's tourism potential was showcased in the Turkish capital Ankara in cooperation with Taipei Economy and Culture Mission.

In an event held at Grand Ankara Hotel on July 31, Taipei's Culture and Mission Representative Yaser Tai-Hsiang Cheng and Tourism Bureau's Singapore Director Trust Lin talked about Taiwan's tourism.

In a speech, Lin said Turkish Airlines' direct flights to Taipei from Istanbul will boost the number of tourists coming from Turkey.

Lin said annually 80,000 tourists from Turkey enter Taiwan. The official said Taiwan's diplomatic mission in Turkey is ready to help tour agents who are willing to organize trips to the country.

Turkish Airlines also fly to the country via Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Dubai.

Turkey and Taiwan started free-of-cost e-visas in 2015, aiming to increase the number of tourists on both sides.
