Team USA beat Nigeria in women's basketball to start Tokyo 2020 with win

US currently lead Women's Basketball Preliminary Round Group B at Tokyo 2020

ANKARA (AA) - Team USA beat Nigeria 81-72 in the first game of Women's Basketball Preliminary Round Group B on Tuesday in Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

19 points and 13 rebounds from A'ja Wilson helped Team USA to get their first victory in Group B, while Ezinne Kalu's 16 points were not enough for Nigeria to secure a win.

In the other Group B game, Japan beat France 74-70 despite Sandrine Gruda's 18 points for France.

After these results, France placed 3rd while Nigeria placed 4th in Women's Preliminary Round Group B.

Team USA will take on Japan while France will face Nigeria in the second games of Group B which will be played on July 30.
