Terror attack in central Turkey's Kayseri province

KAYSERI, Turkey (AA) – A car bomb attack killed and wounded numerous people Saturday in the central province of Kayseri, according to initial reports from the scene.

The blast occurred near Erciyes University campus and targeted a public bus carrying off-duty soldiers, police sources said.

The injured were admitted to nearby hospitals and many ambulances dispatched to the scene. The number of causalties are yet to be provided.

Turkey's Supreme Board of Radio and Television imposed a temporary ban that includes live broadcast from the scene, footage taken from the time of the blast and afterwards, and images of bodies, the agency said in a statement.

An investigation to the attack is underway.
