HAKKARI, Turkey (AA) - Two soldiers have been martyred and another wounded in a terrorist PKK attack in Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province early Monday, security sources said.

PKK terrorists detonated a roadside bomb in the Semdinli district as a military vehicle carrying soldiers passed by the village of Geckan, according to the security sources who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media.

The wounded soldier was taken to Hakkari State Hospital, the sources said.

An operation backed by air support was launched to apprehend the perpetrators, the sources added.

Separately, a PKK terrorist surrendered to Hakkari's provincial gendarmerie command on Monday.
