‘The Studio’ breaks comedy award record at 2025 Emmys

ISTANBUL (AA) - Apple TV+’s “The Studio” broke the record for the most wins by a comedy series in a single season during Sunday night's 77th annual Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, California.

After nine wins at last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmy awards ceremony, “The Studio” won four more awards in Writing for a Comedy Series, Directing for a Comedy Series, Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Best Comedy Series to break the record with 13 total wins.

HBO MAX’s “The Pitt” won the best drama series award while Noah Wyle won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role in the show.

Netflix’s “Adolescence” took six trophies home in the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Outstanding Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie and Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.

Owen Cooper, who won the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series award for “Adolescence,” became the youngest Emmy winner in over 40 years at the age of 15.

Erin Doherty took home the Best Supporting Actress award for her performance opposite Cooper in “Adolescence.”

Britt Lower and Tramell Tillman won best actress and best supporting actor respectively for their performances in Apple TV+’s “Severance,” marking their first Emmys.

Last Week Tonight With John Oliver won the Emmy for the Best Scripted Variety Series and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert won the award for Outstanding Talk Series while Saturday Night Live 50: The Anniversary Special took home the statuette for the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) award.
