ISTANBUL (AA) - North Korea's State Security Minister Ri Chang-dae is visiting Russia to attend the 13th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues, state news agency KCNA reported.
Ri departed on Monday with a delegation and is expected to meet Russia's Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoygu in Moscow on the sidelines of the meeting, which runs from Tuesday to Thursday.
Over 125 delegations from more than 100 countries are attending the meeting, according to the Russian news agency TASS.
Meanwhile, Russia's Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, along with a delegation, is on a visit to Pyongyang.
The visit comes amid enhanced ties between Moscow and Pyongyang. Last month, North Korea confirmed for the first time that it had sent troops to Russia under a mutual defense treaty to support its war on Ukraine.
