Top Turkish diplomat meets officials in Thailand
Mevlut Cavusoglu holds meetings with governor of Chiang Mai, head of chamber of commerce

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's foreign minister on Friday met Thai officials while attending a meeting of southeast Asian countries.
Mevlut Cavusoglu met Supachai Iamsuwan, the governor of the northern province of Chiang Mai, and Varodom Pitakanonda, the head of the Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce.
"Evaluated possibilities of cooperation in tourism with Governor Sukprachai Iamsuwan of Chiang Mai, a city rich in culture and natural beauty,” Cavusoglu said in a tweet.
"Discussed opportunities to increase trade with Varodom Pitakanonda, President of Chamber of Commerce, of Chiang Mai, sister city of Gaziantep & Bursa," Cavusoglu added.
The 52nd meeting of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) foreign ministers in Bangkok, Thailand's capital, starts Saturday and lasts through Aug. 3.
