Top Turkish, US defense chiefs to meet in Brussels

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s defense minister will meet the acting US defense secretary on Wednesday, Turkish Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.

Hulusi Akar and Patrick Shanahan are expected to meet on the sidelines of NATO defense ministers meeting, which is set to be held in Brussels on Wednesday and Thursday, the ministry said in a statement.

Akar is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Greece, France, the Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Italy and Georgia, it added.
