Trump plans to visit Egypt soon: Egyptian TV

CAIRO (AA) – U.S. President Donald Trump plans to visit Egypt soon, the Egyptian television reported.

Trump and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi are currently in Saudi Arabia to attend a summit between the U.S. president and leaders of 55 Islamic countries.

Trump and Sisi held talks in Saudi capital Riyadh on Sunday during which the U.S. leader hailed relations between his administration and Cairo, according to the Egyptian television.

There was no confirmation from either Cairo or Washington of the visit.

Sisi had met Trump in the White House in April for talks aimed at improving relations that had strained under President Barack Obama.

Trump arrived in Saudi Arabia on Saturday on his first presidential trip abroad.

On the first day of Trump’s visit, Washington and Riyadh agreed on an arms deal worth almost $110 billion “to support Saudi Arabia's defense needs, according to the U.S. State Department.
