By Sarp Ozer

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Armed Forces have dismissed 920 personnel since the state of emergency was lifted in mid-2018.

Turkish Armed Forces continue its resolute fight against the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) with its domestic and cross-border operations.

According to defense ministry sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, investigations continue intensively to apprehend remaining FETO members in the Turkish military.

Among those suspended were 215 air forces personnel, while 171 personnel were from land forces and 48 others from naval forces.

The state of emergency was announced in Turkey after FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

It was lifted on July 19, 2018 after two years.

Ankara accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.
