Turkey court remands 12 in MPs' video leak case
Videos belonged to deputies of opposition Republican People's Party and Nationalist Movement Party

ANKARA (AA) - Twelve suspects accused of leaking videos purportedly revealing the private affairs of lawmakers from two opposition parties were remanded in custody Tuesday, a Turkish judiciary source said.
Among the 12 suspects are Ramazan Akyurek, former head of Turkey's police intelligence, Gursel Aktepe, former deputy head of the intelligence service and Ali Fuat Yilmazer, senior police intelligence officer.
The footage purportedly showed former leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) Deniz Baykal and former Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) deputies Mehmet Ekici, Osman Cakir, Umit Safak, Deniz Bolukbasi, Recai Yildirim, Metin Cobanoglu, Bulent Didinmez and Cihan Pacaci in compromising positions.
Baykal had resigned in 2010 after the leak of the footage.
Ekici, Cakir, Safak, Bolukbasi, Yildirim, Cobanoglu, Didinmez and Pacaci had also resigned a year later after the video’s release.
