Turkey greets Qatari people on national day

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey on Monday extended greetings to people of Qatar on their National Day.

"I extend my heartfelt wishes to the friendly and brotherly people of Qatar upon their National Day," wrote Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on his official Twitter account.

"I sincerely believe that our bilateral relations will strengthen further in near future, which were boosted through the solidarity we displayed in the face of common challenges," he said.

Also known as 'Founder's Day', Qatar celebrates its National Day on Dec. 18, which marks the national commemoration of Qatar's unification in 1878.
