ANKARA (AA) - The Turkish youth and sports minister honored differently abled Turkish athletes on Thursday to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
"There is no doubt that our disabled athletes, who carry the crescent and star on their chests with honor, are a role model for us and are inspiring us with their determination and unique successes," Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu said in his message.
He said Turkey will continue improving the quality of life for its differently abled citizens and make sports accessible for them.
"All of our sports facilities, events, efforts and plans are based on the principle of fair participation and equal opportunity," he added.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities is marked every year on Dec. 3.
