By Ferdi Turkten
ANKARA (AA) - Twenty terrorists have been killed in northern Syria, the Turkish General Staff said Saturday.
In a statement, the military said 12 PKK/PYD and eight Daesh terrorists had been “neutralized” in the region on Friday. It did not give an exact location but the Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) has been fighting around Al-Bab and Al-Rai to the northeast of Aleppo. Two opposition fighters were wounded.
Turkish artillery also struck 88 Daesh and six PKK/PYD targets, the statement added.
As part of Operation Euphrates Shield launched on Aug. 24, Turkey has supported FSA troops with special forces, artillery, tanks and airstrikes in a bid to rid the border area of terrorists.
