Turkey: Parliament revokes seats of 2 HDP deputies
Due to absenteeism, opposition deputies Hezer Ozturk and Faysal Sariyildiz lose their seats in parliament

ANKARA (AA) - Two deputies from the opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) lost their seats in Turkey's parliament Thursday due to absenteeism.
Tugba Hezer Ozturk, a deputy representing Van, and Faysal Sariyildiz, who represents Sirnak, both lost their seats due to missing too many legislative sessions.
Parliament’s General Assembly voted for the expulsions based on earlier recommendations from a special joint commission.
Ozturk lost her seat by a vote of 324-20, while Sariyildiz lost his by a 328-29 vote.
HDP deputies protested the decision by hitting their desks.
