Turkey remembers 6 teachers martyred by PKK terrorists

TUNCELI, Turkey (AA) - Turkey remembered six teachers who were martyred 26 years ago by PKK terrorists in the country’s eastern Tunceli province.

Rustem Sen, Metin Kaynar, Ali İhsan Cetinkaya, Mustafa Karinca, Buminhan Temizkan and Vedat İnan were primary school teachers in Darikent village in the district of Mazgirt. They were martyred on Sept. 11, 1994.

A program remembering the victims in the village school was attended by local people, teachers, students, principal, and local officials.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
