Turkey to produce new indigenous defense systems

Decision announced after executive defense committee meeting

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey will launch fresh projects to produce new indigenous defense systems.

The decision was announced after a closed-door meeting of Defense Industry Executive Committee on Wednesday.

The committee also discussed the recent developments in the defense industry, read a statement released after the meeting.

Chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the meeting also saw the attendance of Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu, National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, Chief of General Staff Gen. Yasar Guler and Ismail Demir, the head of Defense Industries Presidency.
