Turkey's Borsa Istanbul closes Tuesday with new all-time high

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended with gains on Tuesday to finish at 1,784.56 points -- a new all-time high closing.

After starting the day at 1,756.71 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 29.08 points, or 1.66%, from Monday's close of 1,755.48 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,796.80 by market close, down from $1,840.60 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 2.16% to $81.42 per barrel as of 6.48 p.m. local time (1548GMT).
