Turkey's Borsa Istanbul down at midweek close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed at 1,449.59 points on Wednesday, down 0.83% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 1,465.81 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 12.1 points from Tuesday's close of 1,461.69 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,789.10 by market close, up from $1,792.00 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $69.34 per barrel as of 6.13 p.m. local time (1513GMT).
