Turkey's Borsa Istanbul looking up at Tuesday open

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,561.78 points on Tuesday, a 0.41% or 6.31-points rise from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.12% to close at 1,555.47 points on Monday, with a daily trading volume of 18.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 7.5300 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), down from 7.5460 at Monday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 8.9800 versus 8.9920, and one British pound traded for 10.4400 Turkish liras, compared to 10.4790 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent oil was sold for $68.25 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
