Turkey’s Can nominated for Euro athlete of month

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish athlete Yasemin Can has been nominated for the European Women Athlete of the Month for December by the European Athletics Association.

Apart from Turkish athlete, Russia's Mariya Lasitskene, Portugal's Ana Dulce Felix, Denmark's Anna Moller and Italian Nadia Battocletti are were among the candidates.

In December, Can won her third successive senior women's gold at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Tilburg.

She is the first woman to win the title on three occasions.
