ANKARA (AA) - The Turkish communications director on Wednesday paid a visit to the newly appointed Anadolu Agency director-general.
Serdar Karagoz on Wednesday took over the reins of Anadolu Agency, Turkey’s top news source, from his predecessor Senol Kazanci.
Fahrettin Altun was greeted by Karagoz, Deputy Director-General and Editor-in-Chief Metin Mutanoglu, as well as Deputy Director-General Mustafa Ozkaya at the agency's doorstep.
For his part, Altun praised the position of Anadolu Agency and said it is one of the most important institutions of Turkey's media history.
Anadolu Agency, suiting Turkey's power in the new era, is at a significant point among world agencies, Altun noted, saying the agency has done noteworthy contributions to Turkey's internationalization, public diplomacy, and journalism.
"A flag change took place here today. I have paid a congratulatory visit to our new director-general and head of the board of directors. On this occasion, I say 'good luck' to him," Altun added.
The Turkish communications director also thanked former Director-General Senol Kazanci for his services and contributions.
