Turkey’s ruling party candidate elected Kirikkale mayor
Mehmet Saygili receives over 42,000 votes
ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party candidate has been elected mayor of Turkey’s central Kirikkale province, according to unofficial results on Sunday.
Mehmet Saygili bagged 42,538 votes, while opposition Good (IYI) Party got 32,429 votes.
Earlier on Sunday, millions of Turkish voters cast their votes in the local elections to choose Turkey’s mayors, city council members, mukhtars (neighborhood officials), and members of elder councils for the next five years.
