Turkish agency gives aid kits to Pakistani schools

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AA) - Turkey's state aid agency has donated 300 first aid kits to Pakistani schools, an official said here on Wednesday.

The kits were handed over to Pakistan Red Crescent Society [PRCS] officials during a ceremony here in the capital city of Islamabad. The PRCS would be distributing these kits to 150 schools across the country.

The ceremony was attended by the president of Turkish Red Crescent supervisory board Ismet Durmus, board member Ramazan Saygili, Turkish Red Crescent country head in Pakistan Ibrahim Carlos, PRCS general secretary Khalid Bin Majeed and other Pakistani officials.

"We are thankful to our Turkish brothers for providing these first aid kits for our schools" Majeed said while receiving aid kits.

As many as 31 schools in Islamabad would be granted two aid kits each, while the remaining 238 kits would be distributed in schools located at provincial headquarters Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.

According to PRCS officials, they would arrange first aid training for the students of schools where these kits would be placed.
