Turkish aid agency opens language center in Kyrgyzstan

‘We share a common language, history, and culture with the Kyrgyz people,” says Turkish ambassador

BISHKEK, Turkey (AA) - Turkey’s state-run aid agency opened a Turkish language and culture center in Kyrgyzstan.

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) opened the center in coordination with Bishkek Humanities University, one of the most prestigious universities in Kyrgyzstan.

Kamil Cengiz Firat, Turkey's ambassador to Bishkek, underlined the importance of Turkish and Kyrgyzstan relations and said: "We share a common language, history, and culture with the Kyrgyz people. They are our brothers. Kyrgyzstan is our friendly country."

For his part, Abdilda Musayev, rector of the Bishkek Humanities University, said they have been working closely with the Turkish Embassy in Bishkek.

"Our university is contributing to the consolidation of the brotherhood and friendship between the Kyrgyz and Turkish peoples. Students who studied the Turkish language and culture are graduating," he said.

The inaugural ceremony of the center was joined by Recep Sula, training consultant of the project; Ahmet Gozubol, Turkish language studies director; and Ali Muslu, TIKA’s program coordinator in Bishkek.
