Turkish bank sponsors Macedonian Handball Federation

BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - A major Turkish public lender has become the official sponsor of the Macedonian Handball Federation (RFM).

Under a deal signed Wednesday, Halkbank will continue sponsoring the Macedonian men's and women's handball national teams through the end of 2019.

Bilal Sucubasi, the CEO of Halkbank AD Skopje, said at the signing ceremony that he is honored to be able to work together in such an important sport for Macedonia.

Zhivko Mukaetov, the federation's president, expressed his satisfaction at Halkbank's sponsorship of the number one sport in Macedonia.

On Thursday, the Macedonian National Men's Handball Team will play against Turkey in the city of Bitola as part of the 2020 European Championship qualifier.

Halkbank is the second-largest state lender after Ziraat Bank in Turkey, with more than 900 branches and over 19,000 employees.
