Turkish BIST 100 index flat at close

Benchmark BIST 100 index gains 4.4 points

ISTANBUL (AA)— The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Monday at 9,321.64 points, up slightly by 0.05% from its previous close.

After starting the day at 9,343.14, the BIST 100 index earned 4.4 points from Friday's close.

The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,268.07, while the daily high was 9,477.78.

On Monday, 48 indexes gained in value, while 49 closed the day with losses.

The total transaction volume reached 108 billion Turkish liras ($2.83 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.48 trillion liras ($223.24 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 38.1905 as of 6.50 pm local time (1550GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 44.0255, and the GBP/TRY traded at 50.4395.

The price of gold was $3,417.99 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $65.20.
